What is it about?
Injection of fat into the gluteal areas is a very common cosmetic procedure of buttock augmentation, called 'brazilian butt lift'. Unfortunately, this surgery is not risk-free and we report a case of a 31-year-old woman who suffered significant neurologic injury to both lower extremities as a result of this procedure. This led to her being wheelchair-bound for months and despite aggressive physical therapy she has persistent symptoms one year after her surgery.
