Ambulatory oxygen is the use of oxygen during the exertion of daily living. many This study categorizes ambulatory gas usage among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and exertional hypoxemia.

Why is it important?

Our findings showed that patients with COPD and exertional hypoxemia used a little more than an hour of ambulatory oxygen daily. This oxygen was mainly from concentrators. Self-reported values are reasonably accurate under 2 hours per day but inaccurate for high-use patients.
