What is it about?

This is the first reported case of propofol extravasation leading to necrosis of limb for which amputation was recommended. Given the high frequency of propofol use in critically ill patients, it is imperative to highlight this case to prevent future events. Care should be taken to avoid infusing vesicants into smaller hand or wrist veins with their increased risks of extravasation.
