Why is it important?

Although the etiology and pathophysiology of cardiovascular diseases are known better today and more effective tools are available to prevent these diseases, still one third of the deaths are caused by cardiovascular disorders. Any health risk can be isolated easily and cost-effectively by this approach in individuals applying for health services for any reason. Such an approach provides primary and secondary prevention with patients with pre-existing CHD.

Perspectives

we found that, opportunities for determining CHD and its risk factors are being missed in primary care. In order to reduce the number of missed cases; responsibility and importance of primary care should be emphasized by training people and health professionals, and by establishing a working referral and communication system between different stages of health services.
