What is it about?

Overall, the authors are to be congratulated on an excellent study examining the correlation between academic impact and plastic surgery social media presence. Social media remains an extremely powerful and underutilized tool for disseminating knowledge in the academic plastic surgery community. The authors of this article should be recognized for discussing a topic that will undoubtedly remain important as technologies and expectations continue to evolve in academia. Researchers should be encouraged to engage more effectively with digital media to promote important papers that are published; and those which have the greatest potential impact on our patients.
