Factors associated with mother's concern about her infant's development intent to use therapy
What is it about?
This study examines which factors impact how concerned mothers of infants in the NICU are regarding their infant's development. It also examines which factors effect if the family plans to use therapy services after NICU discharge. The factors examined were infant medical factors, MRI results, neurobehavior at term, and maternal factors.
Why is it important?
Research supports the idea that infants hospitalized in the NICU are at an increased risk for developmental concerns. Due to this, it is important to understand the factors which influence a family's concern about their child's development, and their intent to access developmental supports like therapy.
