The role of antibiotics in breast pocket irrigation and implant immersion during breast surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis_x000D_ _x000D_ Can the usage of antibiotics and antiseptics in irrigating the breast pocket, bathing the implant, or both, result in lower surgical site infection rates? This article looks at the existing evidence around these practices, and finds that there is a potential benefit in doing so. However, the evidence is weak, and the best way to obtain a definitive answer is through a randomised control trial.
