What is it about?
Spaceflight that results in microgravity provides an idealized condition to simultaneously unload all muscle groups in otherwise healthy individuals. With this model, this study reveals the molecular response of different types of shoulder muscles to microgravity.

Why is it important?
Our findings first demonstrate that shoulder muscle response to microgravity is muscle-type specific and have important implications for clinical conditions of muscle unloading and long-duration spaceflight.
