What is it about?

3) An earlier paper by Schulze and Boysen (1991) report the effects of acrylamide and 3,3’-iminodipropionitrile (IDPN), using behavioral (functional observational battery and motor activity) and neuropathological endpoints. We point out would like to point out two conclusions in this article that appear to be misleading. The first is that metabolism is required for neurotoxic effects. This is incorrect. The second is that their results are not consistent with previous reports on the effects of IDPN on motor function.

Why is it important?

Failure to report previously published findings from other laboratories may lead to erroneous conclusions about the characteristics of IDPN-induced neurotoxicity, and questions the validity of the proposed screening battery.
