What is it about?

The latest discovery by JWST of galaxies only 230 million years after the big bang breaks the timeline predicted by the standard model of cosmology. The evidence instead supports a more advanced version of the theory that predicts a constant expansion rate.

Why is it important?

This discovery provides compelling evidence that our standard cosmological model, in development for over 70 years, is incorrect or, at best, simply incomplete.

Perspectives

This evidence does not stand in isolation. It caps a body of observational discoveries growing over 15 years that the predictions of our current standard model are in conflict with the data.
