What is it about?
This is a new technique to culture cells from embryos of the cloning marbled crayfish.

Why is it important?
Whole crayfish embryos have a lot of yolk, which makes them hard to work with. By getting the actively dividing cells away from the yolk and putting them in a dish, the cells are much easier to work with. These can be used as a test bed for genetic and cell biology techniques.
