What is it about?

Triple negative breast cancers do not express hormone receptors and hence targeted therapy does not exist for this heterogeneous breast cancer subtype. Here we describe EGF (epidermal growth factor) associated generation of 3' UTR isoforms that may lead to certain oncogene activation cases

Why is it important?

Identification of 3'UTR isoforms that are shortened or lengthened may help us identify novel cancer related genes that may have biomarker or therapy target properties.

Perspectives

We need to better understand the isoform diversity in the cancer transcriptome so as to improve our knowladge on tumorigenesis.
