What is it about?

Marie-Claude Morice was born and raised in Paris, France, graduating from the city’s University of Medicine in the 1970s. She opted for interventional cardiology and undertook training at the University Hospital of Toulouse-Purpan, France and the Montreal Cardiac Institute in Canada. She has been Director of Interventional Cardiology at the Institute Hospitalier Jacques Cartier, Massy, France since 1995.

Why is it important?

Marie-Claude Morice has been involved in the Cardiovascular European Research Centre (CERC) since it was founded and serves as one of three medical directors. Morice’s has led a number of major impactful trials including: MUST (Multi center Uveitis Steroid Treatment) ; RAVEL (a Randomized Comparison of a Sirolimus-Eluting Stent with a Standard Stent for Coronary Revascularization); REALITY (comparing Cypher and Taxus stents); SYNTAX (DES vs. CABG in MV/LM disease), LEADERS-FREE and EXCEL, (DES vs. CABG in LM disease).
