What is it about?

Silvia Priori is Professor of Cardiology in the Department of Molecular Medicine at the University of Pavia, Italy and Global Scientific Director of the Istituti Clinici Scientifici Maugeri SpA – SB and Director of Cardiovascular Genetics Centro National de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III (CNIC) Madrid, Spain. She specialises in the clinical management of patients with arrhythmias and their genetic bases.

Why is it important?

Silvia Priori is an active member of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), she has served as President of the European Heart Rhythm Association, led the ESC’s Women at Heart Initiative to highlight the need for more gender-specific research and was awarded a silver medal from the ESC for her outstanding contribution to the development of scientific guidelines.
