Why is it important?

The wealth of new data accumulated during the period since 2012, particularly on percutaneous interventional techniques, has required an urgent update of the previous Guidelines.

Perspectives

The new Guidelines also represent a break with the traditional format and readers will find the published version much shorter than usual in response to demand for brevity and content. Clear presentation and a summary of key points and existing gaps in evidence at the end of each section are designed for clarity and to focus on content.
