Why is it important?

TMJ examination is important routine in the clinical practice, and mandatory before the commencement of orthodontic treatment. Mandibular movement capacity reflects the functional status of the temporomandibular joints.

Perspectives

The co-authors of this article are my colleagues with whom I have had a long-term cooperation. Knowledge about associations between occlusal traits and mandibular movements is very limited.
