Why is it important?

Social work has transformational aims and yet the dominant discourse within Euro-Western social work still largely relies on modernist principles. To achieve transformational change, the foundations of social work should be 'fit for purpose', with a capacity to embrace diversity, collectivity and experiential knowledge.
