Therefore, we believe that propafenone should be regarded both as a class Ic AND a class II antiarrhythmic agent
Perspectives
Thus, single doses of 600mg propafenone appear suitable for cardioversion of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation even in patients with structural heart disease since 600mg propafenone is a beta-blocker by itself and herewith explicitly indicated according to the recent ESC guidelines in patients with coronary artery disease (particularly following myocardial infarction) and heart failure
