Perspectives

In this study, the role of t-SNARE protein, syntaxin 6 on GLUT4 trafficking in adipocytes was studied using methods including cell culture, recombinant adinoviruses over expressing the cytosolic domain of syntaxin 6 and Western blotting. Findings suggested that syntaxin 6 is involved in a membrane-trafficking step that sequesters GLUT4 away from traffic destined for the plasma membrane.
