We have analysed bovine eyes to locate an adult stem cell population which may have implications in corneal blindness and Glaucoma.

Why is it important?

By using eyes from abbatoirs we now have large eye model to make research into blinding diseases without the use of laboratory animals

Perspectives

An excellent model to allow the assessment of future cell based therapies for a number of blinding diseases
