What is it about?
This book offers the first complete and accessible overview of the science behind metalenses — flat optical components that are redefining how we focus and form images. Written in a clear and engaging style, it connects fundamental principles with real-world applications, making it an essential reference for researchers, students, and anyone fascinated by the future of optics.

Why is it important?
Introduction to Metalens Optics is the first book to organize and explain the rapidly growing field of metalenses in a clear, integrated way. It bridges theory, simulations and analysis, helping readers understand and design the next generation of flat optical systems.
Perspectives
When I began working on metalenses and metasurfaces, I felt that the field was advancing rapidly but lacked a unified vision. This book was born from the need to bring clarity and connection — to make sense of thousands of fragmented studies and reveal the bigger picture behind them. I wanted to write the book I wish I had when I first explored metalenses — a guide that explains the principles clearly, links them to design methods, and inspires curiosity about this new way of shaping light.
