What is it about?
The DNA-neuron model elaborated in this paper shows how DNA dynamics within a neuron produces a very rich neuronal activity, especially when neuron interacts with its closest neighbors in a network. Moreover, neuronal activity induces a fast DNA denaturation necessary for the expression of early response genes in the neuron.

Why is it important?
Our results prove to be very important in the control of gene expression and neurodegenerative diseases in the sensory thalamus.
Perspectives
We claim that this new DNA-neuron model could create a qualitative shock in the minds of many neurobiologists and generate a new line of research.
