What is it about?

This is about the ability of marine heterotrophic bacteria to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria, i.e. Vibrio sp., Aeromonas sp. and Pseudomonas sp.

Why is it important?

The heterotrophic bacteria was isolated from two different locations. One is from coastal waters which is far from human activities, and another is from estuarine waters which is close to people settlement and industries. The bacteria found indicated an ability to inhibit the pathogenic bacteria that are always found in fish culture.

Perspectives

This article is very important for myself and other researchers interested in investigating potential bacteria to be applied in mariculture.
