What is it about?

A diode end pumped Nd:YVO4 laser is constructed with three types of crystals. Single and double-end diffusion bounded crystals have shown equal effciencies while standard crystal have lower effciency.

Why is it important?

In this paper, frstly temperature distribution in standard and composite Nd:YVO4 crystals for 1064 nm and 1342 nm trans- itions will be obtained numerically considering the temper- ature dependence of the thermal conductivity tensor. Then the thermal lens focal length will be calculated and the results will be compared with experimental and constant thermal conduc- tivity coeffcient. In the last section, our experimental results will be presented and compared with our tested theory.
