What is it about?

We show that Te phonon modes appear in Bi2Te3 due to the presence of Te clusters.

Why is it important?

In the literature it is assume that these are IR active modes, which is impossible due to the intrinsic physical reasons. This has been extensively explained in the article.

Perspectives

This publication clarifies the presence of extra phonons in a Raman Bi2Te3 spectrum and gives basic physical reasons.
