What is it about?
In this publication we present an algorithm that can be used to compute the radiation dose distribution on oncology patients treated with 90Y.

Why is it important?
Previous algorithms required very long computation times (tens of hours) or needed to consider the patient as composed entirely of water. The presented method is able to use a CT scan to perform calculations taking into account heterogeneities in tissue distributions within the patient's body with computation times below 5 minutes.
