What is it about?
A simple, yet spectacularly beautiful demonstration of one of the main phenomena in wave optics with easily obtainable equipment. The beauty of physics demonstrated with a simple CD.

Why is it important?
This short paper shows an easy way to demonstrate a basic wave-optics phenomenon with spectacularly beautiful effects. It would be great for teachers or parents trying to get their children to like physics.
Perspectives
Arguably the prettiest physics experiments I've done, and I've done many, many educational experiments. It is simply spectacular while being relatively easy to explain.
