What is it about?

The Phrygian god Bas is claimed to be an epiklesis of the Phrygian storm-god, also called Ti- 'Zeus'. After this identification, the name Bas is suggested to be a cognate of Greek φώς, φωτός 'hero, man', both intherited from a PIE agent noun *bʰóh₂-t- / *bʰéh₂ost-, derived from *bʰeh₂ 'to shine'.
