What is it about?

This study describe the synthesis and crystal structure of a V-shape complex, from combination of zinc and amide ligands. There is a gap between the cavity in the V-shape complex that is expected to be accommodated by anion., enable this complex to act as anion receptor or anion sensor.

Why is it important?

our finding has proven that a V-shape molecule with anion host is suitable as anion receptor. This study has open up a new strategies on anion receptor, where a host with pre-organized shape is more suitable to capture the anion within the molecule cavity.
