What is it about?

EZproxy allows users to access electronic resources, such as databases, eJournals and articles, through a library's website. Texas Tech University Libraries moved their EZproxy software from a server in the library to a server with the vendor, OCLC. OCLC maintains and updates the software ensuring that we are running smoothly and that uptime is a close to 365x24x7 as possible.

Why is it important?

Moving from one server that the Libraries had to maintain and troubleshoot to a server with the vendor, was quite a journey. Authentication and other configuration decisions had to be made to ensure a successful move. Since the migration, several libraries have asked what the process is and how to avoid pitfalls
