What is it about?
In this study, we analyzed the splicing patterns of a Brachypodium splicing factor, Bd-SCL33, during infection with seven viruses.

Why is it important?
We found dynamic and conserved changes in Bd-SCL33 splice variants during virus infections. Many of the splice variants contain pre-mature termination codons and encode truncated proteins, that could inhibit the activity of full-length Bd-SCL33 protein in a dominant negative manner.
