What is it about?
The Palestinian non-governmental organisations' peace and development intervention policies in the Gaza Strip. The paper considers a number of social, economic and political factors, circumstances and changes that have influenced the Palestinian NGOs in responding to the different circumstances in the Gaza Strip, including the first and the second Intifadas as well as Gaza's breakaway from the West Bank.

Why is it important?
It is important because the NGOs operate to deliver actions in the field of human rights, community development, conflict resolution, sport, women empowerment or democracy. They are considered crucial stakeholders in mobilising and empowering the society by driving the politics and change process. The paper examines the established interests, reaction and responses of those organizations and the needs of society due to subsequent crisis in the region. It includes how these organizations shape and contribute to establish an important power structure.
