What is it about?
In October 2008, the Indian and Japanese Prime Ministers signed the India- Japan Joint Security Declaration, asserting that the strategic partnership between the two countries would become “an essential pillar for the future architecture of the region.” The declaration represents a major development in the strategic postures of India and Japan; however, there are quite different perspectives as to what it means and where it is likely to lead.
