What is it about?

The purpose of this study was to re-describe a poorly known species of fossil sea turtle from Alabama and to examine its' evolutionary relationship with living species of sea turtle.

Why is it important?

The evolution of marine turtles is still very much a mystery and this paper helps to introduce many of the issues facing paleontologists as we attempt to solve it.

Perspectives

This paper was the result of research performed during my time as a Master's student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
