What is it about?

Madhyamaka Buddhists think that engaging with the doctrine of emptiness leads to liberation. Interpretations of emptiness must heed this thought. Mark Siderits has a semantic interpretation of the doctrine of emptiness, but it struggles to explain how the doctrine might liberate people. I examine Siderits’ view and argue that it is not immune from problems that Buddhists think prevent liberation: his nuanced view can be asserted and people can be attached to it.
