What is it about?

Antioxidants play critical role in the redox hemostatis of body that is responsible for normal cellular functions to be carried out. We carried out the study to show the effect of Ramadan on these antioxidants. It is concluded that there is nonsignificant change in the levels of vitamin A during the month of Ramadan while the levels of α-tocopherol have been decreased significantly on the 28th day of Ramadan.

Why is it important?

It is important that fasting of Ramadan has effect on the levels of α-tocopherol and food-based interventions might be necessary to modify the diet during Ramadan.

Perspectives

It was great expereince and this topic is of my interest. Fastings are kept by huge population all over the world. This study was conducted to inform the people about the effect of fasting on the level of antioxidants and to make a suitable intervention if needed.
