Many tourism destinations worldwide face stagnating and declining tourism levels. This can threaten to undermine economic, social and environmental sustainability in a location. It is important that the disruption decline might involve is appreciated and addressed.
Perspectives
We tend to carefully manage growth but forget about decline. Yet tourism decline is something many destinations have, are or will experience. Managing decline in a sustainable way is important to making sure this process minimises potentially negative disruption.
