How authors and practitioners learnt from each other - from the American Revolution, the Vendee insurgency and French attempts to generate uprisings in Britain, to the Spanish Guerrilla and other insurgencies against Napoleonic France, to Polish insurgencies against their occupiers and French counterinsurgency in Algeria.
