What is it about?

Che Guevara had learnt guerilla tactics from his trainer Alberto Bayo. However, Bayo was a veteran of the Moroccan Rif war (1921-1926) and harbored admiration for the tricks and tactics that the Rifis i.e. Berbers applied against the militarily far better equipped French and Spanish colonial powers. Much of the tactics Guevara learnt from Bayo can be traced back to the Rif war.
