What is it about?

This paper argues for taking writing seriously as a practice that does not merely 'report', but that opens things up. The two authors show this through their exchanges of writing, drawing in particular upon the work of Deleuze and Guattari.

Why is it important?

Writing is often cast in the academy as a mundane and instrumental practice. This article joins others in making a case for the importance of challenging this notion and offering something much more dynamic and challenging.

Perspectives

This is always work in progress, of course. I have been writing with Ken Gale for many years and this paper serves as a way of saying something about where we are in our current thinking and practice.
