To my best knowledge one of very few papers about the effect of transcrystalline layer on interface adhesion (interfacial shear strength) of polylactic acid/poly-L-lactide and natural fibre. One of few papers describing interfacial shear strength with Weibull distribution. The paper deals with the effect of caustic soda treatment on mechanical performance of sisal fibre bundles, its consequences on polymer matrix morphology formation and effect on fibre to matrix interfacial adhesion.
