What is it about?

During the so-called refugee crisis in Sweden in autumn 2015 humanitarian activists entered the breach left by the state in disarray and provided support to the refugees entering the country. Their actions were often in conflict with the state's securitization mandate. The article analyzes the confrontation between civil society actors and the state.
