What is it about?

How do we improve the uptake of transit oriented development (TOD) policies? Perth, Western Australia has wanted TOD for over 20 years but there has been only slow and ad hoc development change. Railway station precincts are just not capitalised on. This paper shows what has (or hasn't happened) and what is slowing progress.

Why is it important?

If we want to create places where people can do all of their daily activities and get to these places by public transport walking and cycling instead of being stuck in a traffic jam we need to improve the way in which transit oriented development policies get implemented. This research shows how.
