What is it about?

In this article you will find out about the phylogeny of mitochondrial super-haplogroup U updated with the help of haplotypes detected in Serbian population. Detailed analysis of haplotypes detected in Serbian population allowed us to detect some lineages that seem to be specific for Balkan Peninsula. These analyses also allowed us to determine, in more details, the genetic history of Serbian population and to decipher complex interactions between numerous populations that have crossed the Balkan Peninsula starting from Neolithic and ending with medieval times.
