Why is it important?

The Korean Peninsula issue inflicts headaches on policymakers around the world. Despite the amount of sanctions placed on the country, somehow Kim's regime continues to survive. In light of this, understanding the internal structure and economy of North Korea is essential if the international community wants to deal with North Korea more efficiently.

Perspectives

Published in 2016, the article surely could not have anticipated the development surrounding the US-DPRK relationship occurring in 2018. Nonetheless, the recommendations offered can be used as a contrasting point against actual policies enacted by the countries involved. What's more, many of the sanctions mentioned here continue to stay in place or have been severed.
