What is it about?

Since most of the Fertilizer recommendations are very old there is a strong need to replace these age old recommendations. We have used soil fertility informations along with crop growth monitoring using MODIS satellite data for recommending the nitrogen fertilizer

Why is it important?

Since this technique involves real time crop monitoring, it has several advantages over traditional methods

Perspectives

In my view this method may have some limitations but it opens up an opportunity to link remote sensing data for fertilizer recommendations. There is limited work on this aspect particularly in India.
