What is it about?
Researchers on teams must sometimes not only learn about foreign research settings but also about each other. Doing this in a critically reflected and shared way can be challenging. We developed a method for introducing teams to new sites, while immersing them in shared reflection.

Why is it important?
Using critical reflection mapping as a means to examine the sociospatial perceptions of researchers in new settings, particularly international ones, can help connect them to their study site quickly, build team collaboration, and improve the quality of research by virtue of including a shared critical reflection explicitly and together.
