Political life beginnings of Azerbaijanis Muslims had to be newly appraised due to prominent part taken by political organisation "Difai", the only one to enjoy a popular base of support among Southern Caucasus Moslems between 1906 and 1908.

Why is it important?

It's important to highligt some traits common to the "Difai" and social-political movements in Azerbaijan between 1917 and 1920 and to point out Ganje area and Karabakh importance in political life during early twentieth century, often minimized in consideration of futur Baku centrality.
