What is it about?

This study investigates what makes ESG-engagement by institutional investors effective. This is done by a case-study on the engagement practices of Dutch pension funds.

Why is it important?

Engagement on environmental, social and governance (ESG) thees is increasingly practiced by institutional investors. However, it is unclear if it is effective and how it can be made more effective. This study answers these questions by interviewing investors, engagement providers as well as the companies that are engaged.
