What is it about?
This article is about how television and, more important, television music practice evolved in Nigeria over five decades.
Why is it important?
To date, no other study has accounted for the development of TV music practice in Nigeria. This article does so and in a very detailed manner. It discusses the history as well as those factors that shaped (and continually shape) industry behaviour and content. It’s a unique publication for both scholars and practitioners who desire to understand TV and TV music practice from an African perspective.
